PO Santoso started with PO Tresno, which was founded by Dr Anwar Sani and his wife in Magelang in the 70s. PO Tresno, which was passed on to the three children of the couple. Soon there were three new autobus companies called PO Hidup Baru, PO Kencana Jaya, and PO Santoso. When Kencana Jaya was unable to maintain its business, several Kencana Jaya bus units were bought by PO Santoso, so the term Kencana Jaya was once known as "chocolate" for Kencana Jaya buses operated by Santoso.

Currently, Santoso Bus operates a VIP AC class bus with a capacity of 32 seats with a 2-2 formation, as well as Economy with a capacity of 40 seats.
