SAN Group was established in 1978 by Mr. H. Hasanuddin Adnan as a freight transportation business with two light trucks. Over time, he expanded the business to include 14 large trucks. From 1982 to 1983, PO SAN began offering public passenger transportation services, driven by the transmigration program initiated by the Bengkulu Provincial Government. With the increasing demand for land transportation, SAN started providing door-to-door pick-up and drop-off services in 1992 for the Bengkulu-Jakarta, Bengkulu-Padang, and Bengkulu-Palembang routes.

This bus company continued to expand its long-distance bus network by opening routes such as Bengkulu-Solo-Ponorogo and Bengkulu-Bukittinggi in 1995 and Bengkulu-Pekanbaru in 2002. Due to the high demand for SAN bus services in Pekanbaru, the company relocated a significant portion of its fleet to the city.
